American and Jewish tour of Nice

Discover your history in the heart of the Cote d’Azur with Via Nissa. During our American walking tour of the diverse city of Nice, we will show you the city through the lens of the Americans who came here, lived here, fought here and changed it forever.

In almost four hours, we’ll reveal how the history of America intertwines with the history of Nice. The cultural walking tour through the historic city will take you through the 19th century, World War I, to the roaring twenties when Frank Jay Gould helped change the Riviera from the home of aging European aristocrats to the famous strip which attracted writers, artists, movie stars, and ultimately, the glamourous present.  We will also examine Jewish history in the city from the Middle Ages until World War II.

Our tour is more than the generic walking tour of Nice, as it allows you to understand the city’s American story. Yet still, it is a true Niçois experience where you’ll discover history unknown to most, and entirely unique to this tour.  We have the keys to many secrets of the city, and we’ll unlock an experience you’ll always remember.

On this cultural walking tour, we visit several parts of the city of Nice, revealing the story of the city. An exclusive insight into history which harkens to America’s past.   The city is waiting for you!
